Join us Saturday, November 4, 2023 for a Celebration of Chicago Arts!

Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 6:30 to 10:30 pm at Venue West Chicago

As a toast to our namesake, Gilda Radner, we invite you to share in a celebratory evening that includes a Chicago showcase of comedy, dance, live art and more! Guests will enjoy interactive entertainment, premium cocktails and wine, craft beers, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and more special experiences throughout the evening. To top it off, we’ll dance the night away! It’s a special event you won’t want to miss– all for a great cause near and dear to each of us.

All funds raised from the event go directly to supporting the tremendous efforts of Gilda’s Club Chicago. GCC is an organization building an all-inclusive, multi-generational community that provides 100% free services for patients, families, loved ones and caregivers impacted by cancer.  From mental health programs and wellness activities to patient advocacy and therapy– this community remains ever-critical.

“Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment, and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next .”

— Gilda Radner

Who is Gilda?

Our namesake, Gilda Radner, was one of the original cast members of “Saturday Night Live.” Throughout her time on the show, she created a number of enduring characters, including Roseanne Roseannadanna, Emily Litella and Lisa Loopner. Laughter and love were central themes of Gilda’s career and life, including in her marriage to actor and comedian Gene Wilder, the original Willy Wonka.

Gilda was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1985. She said that having cancer gave her membership in an elite club she’d rather not belong to. She passed away in 1989, but her legacy lived on when her husband and friends established Gilda’s Club and the first red door opened in New York City.

Mission Statement

Gilda’s Club Chicago uplifts and strengthens people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care.

Inclusion and Equity for All

We believe in equity for all, including in health care, and fight every day to ensure that all people are treated with dignity and respect and have the opportunity to live healthy and safe lives — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

We will create and maintain a climate of inclusion. We will hold our leaders, policymakers, and those in positions of power accountable with the expectation and conviction that these measures will end the inequalities we struggle with today and ensure that the opportunity to lead healthy and safe lives is within reach for all of us.
